How to beat the Reaper in Persona 3 (my strategy)

FOR THOSE WHO ARE READING THIS AND IT IS YOUR FIRST PLAYTHROUGH, READ ALL THE WAY TO THE BOTTOM.

One of Elizabeth's/Theodore's requests asks for you to get a Bloody Button, in which you must fight the Reaper to gain. Now, if you've run into it while exploring Tartarus, you probably saw how frikin' murderous it is.

That is, if you were at a lower level.

See, you have to be close to its level, which is level 99, in order to beat him; a recommended level being 80 or above. It holds all sorts of skills, be that some are the elemental ones that your party is weak against and physical skills that attacks your party as a whole.

My strategy, which is sort of plain and well known, is to spam Thunder Reign as much as you possibly can. I had Aegis, Akihiko-senpai and Ken in my party and, since I was on my second playthrough, I had them high leveled, around 83 and 84 while I was at 99.

I had Aegis buff us every turn, using in this order: Masukukaja ► Matarukaja ► Marakukaja. After that. she would have a free turn in which I just attacked.

Then there was Akihiko-senpai who was doing the debuffs. I had used the debuffs in this order: Matarunda ► Marakunda ► Masukunda. Once it was his free turn until going through that sequence again, I would have him either attack or use Ziodyne. Compared to the others' normal physical attacks, he dealt more; probably because I had him equipped with the giga power band.

Lastly is Ken, who had a simple job: he was the healer. Since he had Diarahan and Mediarahan, I had im heal everyone when they were hit with Mabufudyne, Maragidyne or what have you. If he was to be around halfway on SP, or if anyone was around the same spot, and the reaper didn't make a threatening-ish move, I'd use a chewing soul to restore some of it. Also, on his free turns where he wasn't healing, I'd use Ziodyne or a normal attack.

That's about it, truthfully. You should also have a bunch of Homunculus, because you never know when he's gonna use Mahamaon or Mudoon and stuff

On my first playthrough, I didn't have Thunder Reign and I thought I was completely screwed over. However, I'm quite sure I used Abaddon and Thanatos the majority of the time (I also had the same party as above). However, instead of using Aki's and Ken's free turns to do normal physical moves, I had them use Ziodyne.
